Mt. Baldy
The heat is rising, wind increasing and there is a fire on Mt Baldy. So far 300 acres have burned and it is zero percent contained. The area that is burning hasn’t had a forest fire since the mid 70’s so there is lots of vegetation to fuel the fire. I hope a fire this early in the year doesn't portend a record year for forest fires.

Fire is so final. I was in Canberra (Australia) just after a fire had swept through a neighbourhood... some houses were untouched, some were nothing but ash. And homeless wildlife everywhere.
We get the LA TV stations and that is exactly what they said....expect lots of fires everywhere...not just california. We have had our share of fires but none ever got really close....well except for the time the idiot on the next road was setting off firecrackers and set his own forest on fire.
Ms Shammy - so sad to think of all that's lost in a fire - not to mention how sad for all the wildlife with no place to go.
Rosemary - they're talking about not allowing future building in fire-prone areas but nowadays it seems as if every area is fire prone.
