The New Yorker

There is a cartoon in The New Yorker showing a worried dog on the psychiatrist's couch. The psychiatrist says, "Protect your family, protect your yard, and stop obsessing about port security." I get it.

Was the dog marking his territory at the port? I am dense when it comes to jokes and games. Really dense. I can barely play Fish and Old Maid.

You're so funny. I always read those cartoons with a ??? but this one meant something to me on a more philosophical level - I'm not going to worry about things outside of my "area" but I do like the idea of marking my territory!
