Daughter has just gotten a job! She called and was so excited. She starts right away and so will be working when she gets out of her rehab program. She has asked us to have the locks on her car changed as the ex-boyfriend has a set of car keys. And what will she need when she starts her life over? E-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g! But we have lots we can give her and shopping with a sober daughter will be a joy.
Husband has an appointment with the surgeon this Thursday to go over the CT scan and discuss his bladder removal operation on the 15th. I will be there too because it definitely helps to have two listening. The internet has given us a lot of information on what to expect and we have even found online support groups.
We are preparing for his operation and talking about the unthinkable. He says that if he doesn't come out of surgery he wants to be cremated. I've always know he wanted cremation, we both decided on that some time ago. I don't like talking about these things but know it must be done and oddly it makes him feel more comfortable.
Another good commute this morning but I've figured it out - I'm leaving later! It is so much fun to drive freeway speeds on the freeway. Crank up the stereo and let the good times roll.

I found you. I was catching up last night, but then ran out of time. I am so happy about DD (Dear Daughter) and the metal removal for DS. This is standard internet speak for your family, if you want to use it. So glad you are blogging again! I just love to read! When I spoke with your DH on Saturday, he said he used to work in Alaska. I had no idea! There is so much I don't know about him, and I would like to, so tell him he needs to start writing it down or otherwise conveying it to someone who can pass it along. Or I will just have to come over and talk over a bowl of chili. Our thoughts and prayers are with you both and will be for all of you.
Love, hugs and kisses!
Whew, I had a lot of catching up to do, but this high speed stuff is really making this fun finally!
The Freeway stuff? They will all figure out that you are leaving later and do the same thing. They all know somehow.
Good for you and your education on the cancer. He will come out of it just fine. After care will be hard, but I think the two of you have the strength and support to do it.
How proud you must be of your daughter. It will only get better as she becomes more and more independent and moves forward.
You know, when I was a nurse and saw so much pain and death, I swore I would never want to be coded...but you know what now that I am 62, have such wonderful grandkids and such a rich life with Steve....code me up!!I want to go out kicking.
Amy, I'm going to adopt the DD, DS, DH and DN - I already stole your counter! And DH is a fascinating man - who else could keep my Gemini nature entertained for so long?
And Rosemary, the freeway run caught up with me today. Glad you're having so much fun with the high-speed stuff. Still can't believe how much you accomplished with dial up. And "coded" and "code me up?" You're making me do more research to find out what these terms mean!
