Just Stuff

Green Thompson seedless grapes - in progress. Our Red Flames are a little slower but it looks like we are going to have a bumper crop of both this year. We (DH) is also growing tomatoes, green and red peppers, and swiss chard which we're already enjoying. The avocado trees aren't doing well but the small meyer and eureka lemon trees keep us and our neighbors in lemons.
As I was driving home today, my phone rang; it was DD. "Did you see me? Did you see the RTA bus? That was me." She was going into Orange Co as I was heading out and had recognized me on the freeway. Unfortunately the traffic was extra heavy through the canyon and I never noticed her bus - too busy watching the fenders in front of me.

I remember growing oranges, peaches, berries, grapes and avocados when I lived in California. It seemed like whatever we stuck in the ground grew. It is harder here in the mid-Atlantic east coast. Now I just grow flowers and shop at the local farmers market.

Oh, I really need to read your blog more often! I am so bad about this! But it has been just crazy around my house!
How exciting that she found a place! That is wonderful! And you must be enjoying the quiet. And the thought of looking forward - I mean REALLY looking forward to visits from you grandsons! That is wonderful! So happy for you and so very happy for her!
Your grapes are huge! My entire clusters are only about 2 inches long. Can't wait until we have all these grapes to figure out what to do with. What fun!

We had lemon and cherry trees in my childhood yard.....and wild violets. I used to sit under the lemon tree and read sitting on a blanket.

Today it was almost 90 - good for growing just about everything and having morning coffee on the patio. But talk to me in August when the heat tries to cook everything that doesn't move on its own. Not quite as nice.
